a long time resident of Georgetown, Texas. Born in WVa and raised in Lexington, Ky. To quote a bumper sticker - "I wasn't born in Texas, but I got here fast as I could." Thank you IBM for our career transfer and move from Lexington to Georgetown in 1982.
Experience
Had a camera most of adult life. Along with late wife we studied photography thru Austin Community College's great professional photography program curriculum. This was when film was still commonly used but digital photography was becoming more common.
We operated a home professional photography studio in Georgetown photographing weddings, portraits, high school seniors, events, etc. We started out using film but before long we moved to digital and never looked back.

In recent years my photographic journey has been one of personal interest work and submissions to stock photography/video agencies for world-wide licensing.
In perhaps a nod to the past recent projects have mostly been in creating black & white higher contrast images and printing them myself.
My recent b/w interest is perhaps due to the experiences during our ACC classes of shooting with both b/w and color film. Then experiencing the magic that happens in a darkroom developing the film and creating real paper prints from the film negatives. I've no plan or desire to go back to shooting film but enjoyed the learning and experience.
In recent years I've developed interest in learning the basics of videography. I've learned enough to submit "B-roll" video footage to video stock licensing agencies and create and publish videos for a couple of personal YouTube channels.
