a long time resident of Georgetown, Texas. Born in WVa and raised in Lexington, Ky. To quote a bumper sticker - "I wasn't born in Texas, but I got here fast as I could." Thank you IBM for our career transfer and move from Lexington to Georgetown in 1982.
Experience
Had a camera most of adult life. Along with late wife we both studied professional photography thru numerous classes in Austin Community College's great pro photography curriculum. This was back when film was still in use but digital photography was becoming more common.
After some time we started a home photo studio in Georgetown photographing weddings, portraits, high school seniors, events, etc. We started out using film but before long we moved on to digital and never looked back. We closed the studio after a number of years in operation.

In recent years my photo journey has been one of personal interest photo work as well as image submissions to stock photo licensing agencies.
Recently I've been more interested in creating black & white high contrast images and printing them myself with an Epson inkjet photo printer.
It's perhaps a nod to the past where I had the experience during ACC classes of shooting with both b/w and color film. Then learning the magic that happens in a darkroom when developing the film and creating real paper prints from the film. I've no plans or desire to go back to shooting film but enjoyed the learning and experience.
In addition I developed an interest in learning the basics of videography. I learned enough to also submit some B-roll video to video stock licensing agencies in addition to the stock photo agencies.
